$150.00
I've been posting off and on over the last few months selling my father's guns. He passed away in October and left his collection to me. I've slowly been going through it and this is the oldest in his collection. It's a Remington 11 (Auto 5 clone) the first semi auto shotgun design. My grandfather bought it new, serial number dates back to the early 50's. He owned it for decades, went on many bird hunts and range trips. When he died my grandmother kept it in a closet for 20 years, which effected the finish abit, oil seeped in the stock, rust developed on the end of the barrel. When she died I found it, cleaned it up got it operational again, and then gave it to my father to eventually restore. It then sat in his safe for 10 years. Some time in recent history he modified it, cut down the barrel and the stock.
** DISCLAMER: This is not a SBS or a Class III, it's barrel length is 18.5 inches and it's overall length is 32 inches.**
Not many tears should be shed for cutting up this classic. The stocks needed replacing and the barrel still had traces of cancer on the end last I saw it. I assume he was cutting it down to replace his snake gun that he kept on property, my dad always preferred function over a collector piece, and it would work well for it. It's functions perfectly last I shot it. It's mostly orginal minus a spring or two as far as I know. It'd also be a good restoration project or home defense gun.
Asking $150, not looking to trade, just trying to get it to somebody that can use it. Also throwing in 100 rounds of field and game 12 gauge, my father had a mountain of it.
