Here is an excellent Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model GK rifle in a fantastic chambering - the 6.5x68. The rifle was built in 1966. The barrel is 26" with excellent bore. There are no open sights, but there are "Suhler" type claw-mount bases. The action is unbelievably smooth. There is a tang safety in addition to the wing safety. The double set triggers function as they should. The wood is in very good condition with a few small marks. (See photo # 19). The length of pull is 14 5/8" over a pad. (13 5/8" to the end of the wood.) The weight is 7 lbs 9 oz. Here is what Frank Barnes says about the cartridge: "The 6.5x68 is the most powerful of the many European 6.5mm cartridges...a terrific ultra-velocity small-bore cartridge and would be a good all-around cartridge for North American hunting. It is capable of cleanly killing anything from varmint to grizzly bear if the hunter does his part and uses the proper bullet.
