Spot a Scammer
1. Always check the "Member Since" date on the left side of the ad. If the join date is around the current date you may have a scammer.
2. Always run the IP address search by pushing the small red target next to the location on the ad. While this can be affected by someone running a VPN, most times if the IP pings from somewhere other than the listed area you may have a scammer.
3. IF THE PRICE IS WAAAAAAY TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE YOU MAY HAVE A SCAMMER AND THIS IS IN ALL CAPS FOR A REASON.
4. If the account has multiple guns for sale and it is obvious that the photos in the ads were not taken by the same person, (i.e., the backgrounds are all different) you can do a Google image search and see if the photos were swiped from Gunbroker. Congrats, you found a scammer.
5. If they ask you for a deposit or require you to send them money in any way that isn't a FTF transaction YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE A SCAMMER. They do not have a sick kid and they do not have a flat car tire.
Be vigilant and make your own decisions about how and when you want to sell/trade. Be informed. Be safe. Best of luck to the lot of you and God Bless.
