H & R Top Break Revolver. From the grandfather. This should be an item of interest to a collector of H & R or a hobbyist that enjoys refurbishing old firearms.
5 shot, probably the 32 caliber center fire as identified below (see notes below).
Black Powder firing item.
Patent date 10/4/1887

This is all out of my wheelhouse but based on my research my best guess has it likely being one of the variations of the item listed below:

It shows the patent info marking on top of barrel (see photos) but I find no other markings (such as serial # or caliber).
