Simth and Wesson 1000M semi-auto shotgun
Magnum model, steel reciever, 20 gauge.
Wood is in good shape, no pitting.
Barrel that was on it when i got it is a 2 3/4 chamber with vent rib and choke tubes, currently an extended mod.
Two extra barrels.
First is a 3” full vent rib barrel, was going to get it fired with chokes as well but never got around to it.
Second is a smooth slug barrel with extended rifled choke. It’s actually for a Mossberg 1000 but that is the same gun. I have put the barrel on the gun and it fits and seems to function, haven’t shot anything through it.
A few people have asked, if you look at the picture of the two barrels, the 3” magnum barrel has one vent whole for the gas and the 2 3/4” chamber barrel has 2 vent holes. Yes, a known problem with these guns was that the were finicky when shooting a 2 3/4” shell in a 3” chamber. This is why. The shorter shells with lower pressure loads don’t push enough gas’s through the single hole to operate the action. The other barrel with the two holes does let enough gas through to operate the action. Yes, a lot of people have spent a lot of money modifying gas systems when there was a simple fix, swap the barrel (or drill another whole if you only want to shoot 2 3/4).
