Up for sale out of my personal collection is a VERY RARE S&W Doug Koenig 1911 chambered in 38 super from the Performance Center. This gun was made by the Performance Center in a time when that actually meant something. It was made at a time when Paul Liebenburg and Jimmy Ray were hand lapping and custom fitting guns like the S&W 952, 945, etc. This gun is incredibly rare and was made in limited numbers. There are several "production" Doug Koenig 1911s made by Smith and Wesson, but very few were made by the Performance Center and even fewer were made in 38 super. I have several high end custom 1911s (Rogers, CT Brian, etc) and NOTHING I own shot more accurately than this gun. The fit and finish are absolutely unbelievable. You shake the gun (with the slide open even) and not a single rattle. The slide articulates on the frame like ice sliding on greased ice. This example is LNIB. There isn't a single ding, dent, or scratch anywhere on the gun. It comes with original box, original rug, original paperwork, and two original magazines. For the discerning collector, you could not possibly improve upon this example.
