There are some light dings and scratches but nothing serious and so a good-looking stock and forend with no cracks or splits. The metal retains 85% of the original blue finish with some freckling and edge wear but no rust or pitting. There is a bright clear Tasco 3x9 scope with a duplex reticle. Overall, this is a good tight lever gun that has been hunted and has some honest wear but no signs of abuse. It is a J.M. Marlin made in North Haven, Conn., where all the good Marlins came from. Serial number (20063608) denotes a production date of 1980, the first year of production.
