I was given a press as a Christmas present in 2022 but never got around to opening it and setting it up. Then I sold my Colt 1911, so I don't have a need for it. The box has never been opened.
THE PRICE IS $170.00. YOU CAN GET THE EXACT SAME RELOADER FOR $240-$275 ONLINE AT AMAZON, MIDWAY ARMS, BROWNELLS, OPTIC PLANET & EBAY. SOME CHARGE SHIPPING, SOME DON'T, BUT ALL WILL HIT YOU UP FOR AROUND $20 TAX. NO DEALER IS GOING TO SELL YOU A LEE PRO 1000 FOR $170 OUT THE DOOR.
The Lee Pro 1000 progressive press is a great press. It reportedly can load up to 500 cartridges per hour with an automatic bullet seater ( Not Included, costing about $50). Without the auto bullet seater with a slow, easy pace, 200 -300 per hour is common. Just add a bullet, and a loaded cartridge is produced with each lever pull—all other operations are automatic. Primers and powder are fed only if a case is present for added safety. For fine adjustments or for experimenting, an alternate loading sequence allows for loading only one case at a time.
Features: Includes .45 ACP carbide 3-Die set, Auto-drum powder measure - Pro 1000 primer attachment. Case feeder attachment with tubes and .45 ACP shell plate. Specifications: Frame material: steel and cast aluminum. Auto priming feature. Ambidextrous roller handle Standard 7/8"-14 threaded dies Ram stroke: 3.5" Mounts with three 1/4 x 20 bolts or lag screws. Lee does make a steel reloading stand which is portable, take to the range. These run about $160-$170.
I am including the optional Lee Case Collator the attaches to the loading tubes.
CALIBER CHANGES ARE QUICK, SIMPLE, AND INEXPENSIVE. ALL YOU NEED ARE DIES, NEW SHELL PLATE, AND POSSIBLY A CHANGE IN PRIMER SIZE.
I owed an earlier model in the mid-1980s and loaded hundreds of .38/.357,.45 ACP, and .45 Colt cartridges with no problems. The Pro 1000 went through several upgrades, with this model having been upgraded in 2018. LEE WOULDN'T MAKE A LOSER FOR OVER 40 YEARS!
