Up for sale is a beautiful 1942 Remington mfg’d 1903 Springfield in30-06. I recently inherited this from my dad, but I don’t need this caliber. I have not shot this beauty since I inherited it, but I can say that it functions flawlessly, after experimenting with several 30-06 cartridges. I own many other firearms, so here is my honest take on this one after I researched the SN#: 1942 production. Remington MILLED steel, nickled & hardened (NOT stamped) parts. Blueing is 97% plus, and deep black. Stock is gorgeous 1942 era black walnut (the stock was a little beat-up, so I sanded it down and refinished it with 6 coats of Tru-Oil). The walnut stock is now spectacular in appearance! BTW, this is NOT a military 1903 that was converted into a “sporter”. Remington manufactured a limited amount of these rifles during WW2 that WERE MADE for the civilian market. This is one of them; all original, all factory civilian version, with a period-correct 3x9 Foremost scope. I will possibly trade for two nice Mosin Nagants. I’m open to trade offers on the 7.62x54r caliber rifles. Text Chandler @ 254-2one3-87one5
