Czech – Israeli .22 lr k98 Mauser Training Rifle Listing ID: 3367070

For sale, post WWII Czech manufactured k98 Mauser Israeli training rifle with no import stamps. This was part of a 2000 rifle production run by the Brno (formerly Brunn under Germans) factory in Czechoslovakia, immediately after WWII, for the Israeli military forces for training purposes. Rifles were converted from, at the time, current production Czech receivers, using Remington produced .22 lr barrels, German type (possibly leftover from WWII) Kriegsmodell stocks and metal hardware, as well as some German WWII WaA stamped parts, including rear sight parts. Bolt assembly was converted by the Czechs from turn down bolts to chamber .22 lr, follower is fixed, allowing only single shot, trigger guard is the late war “winter” type, which was bing colely manufactured and used by the Czechs on their rifles at the time. Rifle is marked profusely with “22” in various forms, see pictures. Extensive research was done on this rifle and it is a truly correct and original specimen, not commonly found. There were also about 1000 similar .22 lr training rifles manufactured for the Israelis at the time, by Fabrique Nationale (FN) this is not part of that production run. Very limited production, not commonly encountered rifle, there are no import stamps anywhere on this k98 variant.
