-Aero Precision M4E1 Enhanced upper in FDE cerakote, with Barrel nut and wrench.
-Sgt of Arms 15.5" ARCA Handguard in FDE cerakote w/ mounting screws
-Geissele Government Charging Handle in DDC (Desert Dirt Color)
The Aero Enhanced uppers are designed so certain handguards can mount directly to the extended front of the upper with 8 screws. This is an ideal setup for precision builds since any load on the handguard is transferred directly to the receiver, bypassing the barrel nut. Also, the bolted-on connection between upper and handguard means no possibility for rotation, loosening, gaps, etc.
The Sgt of Arms handguard is designed specifically to work with the Enhanced upper. It gives you a full length ARCA rail with MLOK on the bottom, MLOK and sling QD sockets on the sides, and a full picatinny rail on top. You can see from the pics there is some cosmetic wear from my bipod and tripod mounts, but the ARCA dimensions are still sound throughout.
The Geissele Govt Charging Handle is like the ACH, but with shorter and more rounded levers. This setup had a Leupold MK5 mounted on it its whole life, and the GCH was easily accessible around the back of the scope - it's a just-right size for an ambi charging handle.
I ran this on an 18" 5.56 precision gun for the last couple of years. I let the intrusive thoughts win and decided to part these out and rebuild a MK12 Mod1 around the barrel.
Aero is all but out of business, and I think they were the OEM for SoA too, so you cannot currently buy these parts new. If you want to put together a precision gas gun, this is a great place to start.
